Day #302

The Seahawks on Monday night football combined with fajitas is SUPER EXCITING according to Maddy :) 

Day #301

This is our life. Sometimes your kid chooses to wear every pink item she owns while riding her pink bike so that she looks like someone dumped pepto bismal on her. And yes, she is wearing pajamas with Santa on them in October because those were the only ones that were clean!

Day #300

Wow, 300 days of pictures! I can't believe it's been almost 10 months since we started this adventure. I'm already thinking about what we'll do to document things this well once the year of photo-of-the-day ends. 

Here's Maddy wearing my shoes. She walked all over the living room and when she would almost fall because they're way too big she would say, WHOA!

Day #299

Maddy, Ted and I carved pumpkins today and had a blast. Maddy picked out a lot of the shapes for the eyes and noses on the pumpkins and helped scoop out seeds and guts (although she thought touching it with her bare hands was gross). Here are our final products.

Day #298

While in Vancouver, Maddy, Linda, Larry and I went and met with my Grandma's retirement home about moving her into the assisted living part of the building. The Director was wonderful and showed genuine kindness and empathy towards our situation, which we greatly appreciated during this difficult transition. Grandma will be moving in next weekend and seems excited to have more support but also still live on her own.

Day #297

Maddy and I went to Vancouver this weekend because Great Grammie Pat hasn't been doing very well lately. She's been staying at Linda's while she recuperates. We had a nice visit and hopefully boosted her spirits a little. 

Day #296

Maddy brought her doll to Ted tonight and said, oh no, dirty, and pointed to a spot on the dolls leg. Ted got right to work cleaning it up!

Day #295

Maddy had her 2 year check-up today. It was a great appointment with our favorite doctor, Dr. Moore. Maddy's doing great developmentally and really advanced with talking and motor skills. Unfortunately she had to get 2 shots but she did great with only a few tears.

She weighs 26lbs and 6oz and is 34 inches tall. And is right around the 46th percentile for weight and 53rd percentile for height. Pretty average :)

Day #294

Ted and I went to the Salish Lodge last weekend which is next to Snoqualmie Falls. We spent Friday night there while Ted's Mom took care of Maddy. We had a great time and a much needed break from all of our obligations, stresses, etc. The building to the top left of the waterfall is the lodge where we stayed. Grateful for sunny fall days, amazing Italian dinners, and the company of each other. 

Day #293

Maddy got this sleeping bag and pillow from her Great Aunt Dawn and Great Uncle Gregg and wanted to try it out this weekend. She kept shouting, lie down and cover up. Apparently she knows what it's for :)

Days #282 - #292

Sorry for being so behind (especially sorry Jenn who's been bugging me for a week to post quicker). Things got really hectic during and after Maddy's birthday weekend and we've had a hard time getting back on track. Here's a recap of where things stand. Also, I'll post more pics from Maddy's birthday weekend soon (including cousin photo shoot, 2nd birthday party, and the trip to the zoo). 

Day #292

Maddy and I went grocery shopping at Trader Joes and she insisted on pushing the cart. It slowed us down a little but she had fun so it was worth it.

We ordered Thai food the other day since the Seahawks had a special Thursday night game. Maddy devoured it!

We've had some pretty nice fall days lately which means we even got to the park.

 Maddy's decided it's fun to sit on Bailey's dog food tin in the pantry. Crazy kid!

Day #287

Grandpa brought us oysters from Oregon when he came up for the long weekend. We grilled some and Maddy LOVED them. We even called Grandpa to tell him how big of a fan she was. She literally ate 4 or 5.

Day #286

Ted and I took the day off for Maddy's actual birthday and went to the zoo and out to lunch. Maddy scarfed down a grilled cheese and fries and even stole some of mom's clam chowder.

Great Grammie bought Maddy this tunnel for her birthday. It's been a big hit!

Oregon and Washington played football and we were all ready in our opposing clothing to cheer on our team. Of course the Ducks won :)

Grammie's birthday is right before Maddy's so on the first night the family was all here, we celebrated Grammie's birthday!

Day #281

Dan and Nicole finally got high speed Internet and so we've been able to Skype lately. Maddy and Hayden did it for the first time last night and had a blast! There's Nicole and baby Paisley too!

Day #280

We had dinner with Ted's family now that his parents are back from Canada and Maddy kept talking about her birthday. She has started asking people if they will help her blow out her candles which is cute but made Ted's Dad think she might need a little practice so we rounded up some candles and put them in her dinner and she practiced. She thought it was great fun and got pretty good at it.

Day #279

We went to Costco yesterday evening to get a few things (who am I kidding, you never get a "few" things when you go to Costco). So, $175 later, we headed to the food court for cheap tasty treats. Maddy and I scoped out a table while Ted grabbed us food. Maddy was super excited about the prospect of ice cream!

Ted, Maddy and I went to an apple orchard and pumpkin patch today. We had cider and donuts, picked out pumpkins and went through a petting zoo. More pics to come soon but here's one of Maddy and her donut in her rain boots.

Day #275 & 276

Maddy and I went to Seattle to celebrate Jenn's birthday. We rode the bus up there (since Ted would be meeting us after work). Maddy loved the bus! We took Jenn out for lunch at Thai food and Maddy ate a ton if Phad Thai. Great day overall!

Day #274

Maddy has a friend at daycare who wears rain boots a lot. I figured she might like a pair of her own and since its that time of year, it would probably be good for playing outside. I got the cutest pair and she loves them!

Day #273

I have a new favorite song right now (Brave by Sara Bareilles) so I was playing it for Maddy and Ted last night and dancing with Maddy. Maddy of course said Daddy dance (not knowing that he DOES NOT dance). He's the best Dad ever though and joined right in!
