Day #240

This photo is from about a week ago when our friends Jenn and Paolo were coming over for dinner. Maddy kept running to the door waiting for them and finally got tired and just drug her camping chair to the door to wait :)

Day #239

Look at me on top of the blog for the first time this month, woo hoo (see I told you I promised)! Last night we had one of Ted's college friends over for dinner. His girlfriend and her daughter came too. Maddy and Lucy had a lot of fun playing together although Lucy was 4 and so a lot of their "fun" resulted in Maddy pretending to be 4 too which wasn't always the safest. Whew, glad to only have a 1 year old right now!

Days #230-238

August 19 through August 27

I did it again, I'm behind. Things are ridiculous around here! We had a really busy week last week with work and at home. I got the stomach flu and then we went camping. Here's a recap. I'm going to really really try to stay caught up. Sorry tp our faithful followers (Kim, Linda & Jenn)!

Maddy wanted to eat dinner in her diaper tonight. No shoes, no shirt, yes for service!

Maddy likes having a snack after daycare and now is pretty into watching cartoons. She was pretty comfy tonight, chillin' on the bed :)

Dan, Nicole and Hayden bought Maddy this ladybug chair for Christmas. She didn't really have the coordination for it and it always tipped over so we put it away. Luckily we got it back out and it's a big hit and much safer.

We made corn chowder with fresh corn from Puyallup. Maddy really liked it but of course wanted to feed herself - "I do it!" - which created a big mess. Oh well!

Maddy got pretty dirty at camping which resulted in picnic table baths. Who wouldn't want to take a bath next to the campfire?

There was a playground at the campground which Maddy really liked. She even tried the tire swing once the big kids took a break.

 Coffee before breakfast with Daddy!

Maddy is pretty excited these days to "HELP!" I decided tonight (since we were on our own because Ted was at his football draft party) to utilize her assistance as much as possible. Here she is making meatballs and tomato sauce, doing laundry, and folding laundry. Big helper!

Maddy and Mommy cuddling before bed. Big smiles!

Days #222-229

Things have been super hectic around here lately. This past week was especially busy and it has taken a little while to get caught up on the blog (my apologies). Here goes!

August 11 through August 18

Mmmm corn! Maddy likes eating it off the cob now and has gotten pretty good.

Maddy discovered that the back of the tub is slanted and you can lay down and relax. She looks pretty comfy.

Maddy LOVES the vacuum. Here she is using an attachment from the real vacuum to help Ted.

Maddy got the stomach bug :( She got sick quite a few times in the middle of the night and ended up staying home sick with Mom. Luckily it was only a 24 hour bug.

GRANDMA CAME TO VISIT! Grandma and Maddy had a great time hanging out, playing, and reading.

We canned 50 jars of pickles this weekend. It was great fun. Thanks Mom for all the amazing canning advice.

We got Maddy a Seahawks jersey for the upcoming season. She looked pretty cute!

Days # 214-221

August 3 through August 10 - Trip to Pennsylvania!

Maddy and I went to Pennsylvania for a week to visit my friends Kendra and Gina. We stayed about 2/3 of the time in the Poconos at Kendra's parents lake house and the other 1/3 at Gina's house in State College (where Penn State is). We had a great trip overall. Here are photos of our adventures!

Maddy and I getting ready to take off in Seattle. I got her this collapsible tray to use over her carseat and it was a big hit. We played cards until the flight took off.
We went swimming with Kendra and baby Case. We had a great time!

Maddy had fun playing in the water and also playing with the beach toys in the sand. Every time she saw the lake, even from the house, she'd shout, SWIMMING!

We got to State College and went to get some groceries. Maddy rode in one of those carts with a car on the front for the first time and she loved it. She kept saying vroom, vroom.

What would be a trip to State College without ice cream at the Penn State creamery. She loved the strawberry!

Gina, Kendra and I went and got pedicures. Maddy sat on my lap and put her feet in my water and then at the end they painted her toenails. She was mesmerized so actually sat still. She is infatuated with the color orange right now, so guess what color polish she picked out!

Walking with our friends Kendra and Gina on our way to dinner!

Headed home to Seattle, wearing PJs, and watching videos on my old iPhone with her own headphones!

Day #213

As I mentioned before, we had family photos taken on Monday evening at this really awesome park by our house. Our photographer hasn't gotten our pictures back to us yet but did post a couple on her photography Facebook page which I was able to grab and share. Here's a preview of the photoshoot, more to come soon!

Day #212

Maddy has gotten pretty good at identifying colors. We usually ask her to get her different color cups in the bathtub in the evenings. She's about 100% for orange and green, but is hit or miss with red, yellow and blue. She's gotten so much better though and tonight she got ALL five colors right while we were playing. She gets really excited and claps and dances around after she gets one right. Yay for learning!

Day #211

Maddy and I are going to Pennsylvania this coming weekend to spend some time with Kendra and Gina in the Poconos and in State College. We started packing today since we had just done laundry and it seemed like a good idea before we got the clothes we needed all dirty again. Maddy's pretty excited for the trip and keeps saying airplane and Case (Kendra's baby's name). Here we come!
