Maddy did really well with cereals (brown rice and oatmeal) over the past 10 days so we decided to try veggies. I made homemade baby food tonight (butternut squash and sweet potatoes) and it was a success! I baked the veggies and then pureed them in the food processor (which we actually got for our wedding and had yet to use). Maddy tried the squash tonight and loved it :) We'll try more foods in the weeks to come and hope that she continues to be very interested in expanding her palette.
We went with the Drapers to Sunriver Oregon this past weekend to enjoy some snow and family time. We had a great time with Grandpa Larry, Grandma Kim, Uncle Dan, Aunt Nicole, and Cousin Hayden. Here are some pictures from your fun!
We got the clearance from Maddy's pediatrician today to start solid foods. We decided to try brown rice cereal tonight and it was a success! She's been very interested in food lately, and now we know why. She was totally ready to chow down! Thanks Grandma Merlene for the high chair. Here are some pics and a video of our momentous event:
Maddy turned 4 months old today. We had a doctor's appointment earlier this morning. Unfortunately she had to get 2 shots, but she did really well. She weighed 13lbs 11oz (54th percentile) and measured 25 inches (75% percentile). Here are some pictures from today's monthly photo shoot (and no, she did not get a haircut, which people keep asking when they see these photos. I just brushed it with water and so for once, it wasn't sticking up all over the place):
