11 Months Old

Maddy is 11 months old now. She can walk (when she chooses to), she can point to her nose, and she eats only "grown-up" food now :) She's about to transition to the 1-2 year old room at daycare (she's more than ready and has been causing "issues" with the little babies for a while now). She is still go, go, go all the time and is definitely a challenge to keep up with. We love her so much and are so amazed by all the new things she does almost daily. Here are her 11 month photos!

East Coast

The whole family headed to the East Coast for Labor Day weekend to see family and friends. We visited Aunt Natalie and Uncle Michael, went to a wedding in Baltimore for Jacki and Andre, and got to see Julie's friend from Penn State, Gina. It was a great trip and Maddy did really well with the plane travel, time change and seeing so many new people.

 We took a red-eye flight and Maddy slept the WHOLE time!

10 Months!

Maddy turned 10 months old this week and "luckily" was home sick with Mom and Dad all week to capture lots of fun! She took her first steps this week as well as learned how to drink out of a straw. She's almost 19 lbs (still pretty small for her age although her height makes up for it). She is on the move from the second she wakes up until she goes to sleep. She really doesn't stop going, going, going and with the walking happening any day now, we know we're in big trouble! I had to get a little creative with the 10 month photos this time, so Ted brought home hard plastic letters from his reader board at work. It was PERFECT as she couldn't bend them and she thought they were pretty fun.

Walking, walking, walking!

This past weekend Maddy learned to walk on a push toy across the house. THEN today we were home sick (tummy trouble for Maddy) and she let go and took a few steps towards Mom. We repeated it a few times but it's official, she took her FIRST STEPS a day before she turned 10 months! We're in big trouble now. Here are videos of her walking with assistance and then a few steps unassisted!

Rafting

We went rafting and camping in Southern Oregon with the Draper family. It's an annual tradition but the first time Maddy has been with us. We had a great time! Maddy's favorite part was riding in Hayden's wagon with him. If whoever was pulling the wagon would stop, Maddy would rock back and forth encouraging it to keep moving. She slept very well in the tent at night and seemed to enjoy the sunshine, fresh air, and time with family. It was a little warm (over 100 on the final day) so the babies spent a lot of time in a kiddie pool staying cool. We can't wait until next year!

Fort

We got Maddy a new carseat and with it came a GIANT box! So we turned it into a fort. She had to be convinced to go in it but once she was there, it was pretty fun (as long as mom or dad were close by).

Pig Roast

Our friends had a pig roast yesterday so we all went. There was tons of tasty food including a whole roasted pig! Maddy had a great time socializing with the other kids and meeting tons of new people.
