Cute Outfit

There is nothing special about this post except that I bought Maddy the cutest overalls when shopping the day after Thanksgiving and wanted to show them off. They have tiny pink hearts on them and she looks adorable so I took a bunch of photos. The last photo in her carseat was in my office as we stopped by my work for a few hours today. Everyone agreed that she was pretty cute :)

Grandma & Grandpa Draper

Grandma Kim and Grandpa Larry visited for a few days for Thanksgiving. They had a great time with Maddy and couldn't get enough of her :)

Thanksgiving

We celebrated Maddy's first Thanksgiving in Tacoma and were excited to spend the holiday at Grandma Merlene and Grandpa Rick's house but were joined for the long weekend by Grandma Kim and Grandpa Larry. In addition, Great Grandpa Merritt flew in from Lake Tahoe and got to meet his great granddaughter for the first time. Maddy thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and all of the time with family. She kept up her smiling :)

Roadtrip to Vancouver

Maddy and Julie went to Vancouver today to visit Aunt Linda and Uncle Bob. Linda had met Maddy the day after she was born at the hospital but Bob had yet to meet her. Julie and Maddy drove about 2 hours to get to their house and Maddy slept the whole way. Linda and Bob held and played with Maddy and then everyone had lunch. It was a short visit (in an attempt to avoid traffic) so after a few hours Julie and Maddy packed back up and headed back to Tacoma. Maddy slept the whole way back as well, which was great! Thanks so much to Linda and Bob for such a wonderful day. It's so nice to have family so close :)

SMILE

Maddy has been smiling for about a week now but unfortunately as much as I tried, I wasn't able to get a photo of it. Tonight as we were getting ready to head to Grandma & Grandpa's for Sunday dinner, I was talking to her after putting her in her carseat and she started smiling like crazy. I quickly grabbed the camera and she kept it up. Here is the first photo of her smiling :) Notice the dimple in her right cheek just like Mom and Aunt Linda!

Maddy & Pets

So far the pets are mildly interested in Maddy. The cats smell her and check her out occassionally. Mostly they are interested in her things and can be found in her crib or Pac 'N Play or laying on her toy mat on the floor. The dog is more interested in her and likes to lick her hands, face, feet, pretty much anything she can reach. She lays next to Maddy's crib on the floor when she's in it and gets a little worked up when she cries, wanting to know why you aren't "fixing" it.

Tummy Time

We've started doing "tummy time" daily to strengthen Maddy's neck muscles. She usually lasts five to ten minutes before having enough and then she gets fussy. She'll lay on her back on the play mat though for much longer and seems to be pretty into all of the toys and stuffed animals hanging above her. She kicks her legs and waves her arms like crazy!
